The following are the duties of a branch postmaster:

• Routine postal services provided by Branch Post Offices and India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) in accordance with the guidelines periodically established by the Department.

•  Operation of various services in the Department's Customer Services Centers (CSC), as well as marketing and promotion of goods and services offered by the Department.
•  In single-handed BOs, BPMs are in charge of overseeing the prompt and efficient operation of the Branch Post Office, including mail delivery and postal carriage.
